By purchasing from Shaw Hill Pottery (“we,” “us,” or “Karen”) through this website, you agree to these terms. Shaw Hill Pottery is a small ceramics studio based in Ontario, Canada.
Every piece sold by Shaw Hill Pottery is wheel thrown and hand finished by Karen in her Ontario studio. Because each piece is made by hand, there may be slight variations in size, weight, glaze colour, and texture compared to the photographs shown — this is a natural and valued characteristic of handmade ceramics, not a defect.
Most pieces are one-of-a-kind. Once sold, the exact piece shown cannot be reproduced. Some pieces are made in small matching sets; individual-quantity availability is noted in the listing.
All prices are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD). Sales tax is not currently charged. Shipping costs are shown at checkout before you confirm your purchase.
Prices are set by Karen and may change between drops. The price shown when you add a piece to your cart is the price you will be charged.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We accept major credit and debit cards. By completing checkout you authorise the charge to your payment method. Your card details are handled by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.
We ship to Canada and the United States only. We do not offer international shipping beyond Canada and the US at this time.
Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on the size of your piece. Transit times vary by carrier and destination; we are not responsible for carrier delays once your piece has shipped.
Local pickup is available at no charge. For privacy reasons, the pickup address is shared only with customers who choose pickup — it is included in your order confirmation email after purchase. The pickup address is not published publicly on this website.
Because each piece is one-of-a-kind, all sales are final, except items damaged in transit. If your piece arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photographs of both the packaging and the damage via our Contact page. We will arrange a replacement or refund promptly.
For more details, see our FAQ — Returns.
Shaw Hill Pottery's liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the piece in question. We are not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under applicable Canadian consumer-protection law.
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
